Breakfast at Sunrise from the top of London: Duck & Waffle

7 Oct

ImageA 5am trip to the top of Heron Tower was well worth the views and a special type of breakfast. Whisked up 40 floors by a glass lift we were led into the panoramic view and 24 hour restaurant. At this hour the breakfast menu is more limited until 6am but the famous ‘Duck and Waffle’ special is most certainly on there.

As the sun rose and we got the most outsanding views of London we scoffed ‘Colombian eggs’ and ‘Duck egg en Cocotte’. The latter more highly rated, as the Colombian eggs was just like standard scrambled egg on toast, but the duck egg with wild mushrooms, truffle, melted cheese and soldiers were delicious!

The prices are reasonable considering the experience. Well worth a visit, especially at sunrise for not only the view but the almost guarantee of getting a table – it was quiet at this time, a more personal experience.

Our Rating: 4/5 stars
